Summary
My client is looking for an additional Quantity Surveyor to be based on flexible hybrid working (Home/Office) in South East England.
Reporting into the Senior QS, this role will support the business unit by managing the contractual and financial elements of projects undertaken within the Networks (South) business. This includes large electrical and civil frameworks and major standalone projects with UKPN, across DNP&P Major Projects. In addition, the role will include all other activities to enable successful P&L, cash flow, and working capital management.
Key Deliverables:
1. Manage Costs
2. Ensure all contracts, up and down supply chain, are fit for purpose
3. Provide Cash Flow Forecasts
4. Measurement and valuations of works for applications, variations, and final accounts with both clients and suppliers
5. Identify & notification of Early Warnings and Compensation Events
6. CVR creation and management
7. Establishment and chair of monthly project reviews
8. Managing the dispute and defects process with the Client
9. Attend Client progress meetings
10. Follow procedures for Client Work Approval
11. Post Audit of works commercially
12. Manage Invoicing and Debts
13. Effective Communication with all levels of personnel
14. Supply chain management
15. Provide innovative ideas and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
1. Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role - Essential
2. A well-developed understanding of various forms of contract, in particular NEC3/4 - with the ability to apply these skills in a practical fashion to live projects - Essential
3. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or other related discipline (can be substituted by a relevant HNC and suitable experience) - Essential
4. Good MS Excel skills including the use of lookups and pivot tables - Essential
