THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Counsel, we are looking for a driven and passionate lawyer to join our team who is used to dealing with commercial contracts, procurement contracts and commercial law.
Responsibilities:
* Advising and negotiating a range of commercial contracts including Non-Disclosure Agreements, supplier contracts (IT and non-IT), data sharing agreements, platform agreements and pension scheme terms and conditions.
* Maintenance of our contract repository.
* Provide high quality, business focused legal support directly to a growing and developing global business through a strong understanding of both legal requirements and commercial implications.
* Ability to balance risk mitigation and commerciality.
* Liaise with all stakeholders including customers and suppliers with the ability to influence such stakeholders.
* Advise the business on legal interpretations, internal standards and practices, new business initiatives and other commercial and regulatory matters.
* Build relationships with stakeholders and be a trusted legal adviser.
* Provide legal training to the business and be a knowledge-hub of best practices.
* Support the implementation of improved processes including the creation and implementation of contract templates and playbooks.
* Support the team’s legal operations and work-flow management.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
* Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
* Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Confident and pragmatic approach to problem solving and managing legal risk.
* Be highly motivated to deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment and for a growth business.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and to deliver as an individual contributor within the legal team.
* Experience and/ or knowledge of master trust pension scheme arrangements would be an advantage but is not essential. Full training will be provided for a candidate who is willing to learn and up-skill in this area.
