Healthcare at HMP Nottingham gives you the opportunity to make a difference to a group of people who traditionally have had high psychiatric and social morbidity but have also faced multiple barriers to accessing appropriate healthcare.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join the Healthcare team at HMP Nottingham.
You should be enthusiastic, motivated, patient-focused, and enjoy a challenge. We provide a service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on an internal rotation basis. The team operates in a supportive environment with a commitment to personal and professional development.
This role is for both newly registered general nurses and for nurses wishing to pursue a career within Offender Health.
Working with a caseload of often complex and challenging patients, you will provide a substance misuse through-care service for patients from the point of entry into the prison system to re-entry into the community so that re-offending is reduced and the health and social functioning of patients is improved.
You will be part of a committed, passionate, and vibrant Substance Misuse Team delivering high-quality patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for people with substance misuse problems, working to harm reduction and health promotion/recovery agendas.
You will provide leadership to junior staff by maintaining professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
The Substance Misuse Team is part of the Healthcare Care Group which also provides Mental Health and Physical Health services, all of which work together to provide a comprehensive package of patient care.
Nottinghamshire Healthcare employs over 10,000 colleagues who help #MakeADifference every day. We provide intellectual disability, mental health, community health, forensic, and offender healthcare services across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire. Care is delivered from over 120 sites within the community from acute settings and across low, medium, and high secure environments including prisons.
As one of the largest mental health and community trusts in the East Midlands and one of the biggest employers in Nottinghamshire, we are also home to national and regional services such as the National High Secure Deaf Service and the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.
We are committed to flexible and agile working, including the opportunity to join our bank.
Your health and wellbeing is our priority and as such we invest significantly in this via our in-house Occupational Health Service, Staff Counselling Service, and Health and Wellbeing Team.
We offer a number of employee-led staff networks, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) groups, our Green Champions Network, Freedom to Speak Up Network, Health and Wellbeing Champions Network, and Menopause Champions. We provide care to a diverse range of communities and are passionate about supporting diversity and inclusion in the Trust.
If you believe in our values of Trust, Honesty, Respect, Compassion, and Teamwork, then we would love to hear from you!
