Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey The Role: We are seeking a talented Technical UI Artist to help us create our wonderful, entertaining game, with high-end graphics that is built for mobile platforms. As a Technical UI Artist you will be one of the core members of team, responsible for working with creative Leads and the team to take the vision of our game in engine, honing in on animation and how the screens respond to the player’s touch, adding that extra quality to the overall product finish. You will act as a key point of contact for the graphical design, encompassing the creation and implementation of user interfaces (UI) and heads-up displays (HUD) across our latest high-profile game. Collaborating closely with art leads and the team, you'll help build and bring to life these elements with our overarching game style guide. Your responsibilities will span from translating initial concepts into final in-game layouts, managing platform-specific UI assets for optimal layout and consistency, to meticulously curating fonts and styles for all languages. Through coordinating with fellow team members, you'll ensure that the UI maintains a consistent, polished appearance while aligning with the design brief. Ultimately, your contribution will be instrumental in delivering a seamless, intuitive, and visually appealing user experience throughout all facets of the game. About you: With experience within a similar role, you will have worked on the implementation of both in-game and frontend UI systems. You are a creative problem solver, an excellent communicator, a great collaborative team-worker, and take great pride in creating great UI. Familiarity with the Unity game engine is essential, as a significant portion of your work will be in Unity creating UI layouts based on agreed concepts: implementing textures and fonts, compositing screens, linking screen flow and functionality, as well as liaising with the design and programming teams to ensure a high level of consistency and polish. You will have experience with implementing more advanced mobile user interface elements, such as working with custom shaders and Unity animation systems such as “Timelines”. We realise that finding the right person is important and we’re happy to consider candidates who show strong potential, and who are willing to step up and take on additional responsibility over time. And of course, you will have a passion for games What can Pixel Toys offer: At Pixel Toys we are proud of the progressive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment we have created; a place where everyone has the opportunity to be themselves and is welcomed and valued for who they are and what they contribute.
