Aitken Laboratories operates across Scotland and the North of England. We offer independent site investigations, soil sampling and UKAS accredited testing to the construction industry, supporting companies involved in road, infrastructure and building construction.
Our business has been running for over 50 years and has an excellent reputation for geotechnical, mineral and environmental investigations, including cable and hydraulic percussion boring, rotary drilling, window sampling, trial pitting and on-site testing.
In 2024, Aitken Laboratories became part of the Built Environment division of Celnor Group, a UK-wide platform for testing, inspection, certification and compliance (TICC).
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our highly experienced team. The successful candidate will be fully involved in all aspects of site investigation contracting.
Main Duties:
1. Responsibility for the planning and implementation of geotechnical investigations, including liaising with clients and subcontractors.
2. Supervision of the field works and trial pitting.
3. Assisting with the production of factual and interpretive reports.
Role Requirements:
1. Excellent communication skills.
2. A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Sciences.
3. A sound understanding of relevant Eurocodes/British Standards.
4. A flexible approach to delivering work.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year
