Raigmore Hospital acute adult ANP service is currently recruiting Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
Our well established service consists of 24 qualified ANPs and a number of trainee ANPs, in addition we have a team of Assistant Practitioners who support the Medical and ANP workforce. Our service covers hospital at night, general surgery, trauma + orthopaedics and medicine including ambulatory emergency care. Post holders will be expected to work daytime, evening and weekends across 7 days.
The ANP team supports the deteriorating patient work-stream across Raigmore Hospital providing vital leadership, teaching, quality improvement and audit opportunities which enable our Practitioners to achieve the four pillars of practice. You will have opportunity to become a core member of the cardiac arrest team and first point of contact for our onsite Medical Emergency Team.
Qualified ANP/ACP
You must have completed an NHS Highland approved advanced clinical assessment and history taking module at degree level and also be registered with the NMC as a non-medical prescriber (V300) and have significant experience working in acute inpatient services at advanced practice level.
Full or part time hours are available with permanent, fixed term and secondments considered. Please state your preferred hours on application. An attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 may be available to eligible successful candidates.
Trainee ANP/ACP opportunities
The successful candidates will be required to undertake a specified training programme to achieve a Post Graduate Diploma through University of the Highlands & Islands which includes Advanced Clinical Examination and Non-Medical Prescribing qualifications. In addition you will be required to complete the NHS Highland Advanced Practice Competency Framework/Portfolio and achieve final sign off in line with advanced practice national recommendations.
You will be supported by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Lead and Practice Development Nurse with training expected to be completed within 18 months of taking up post. The training posts are rotational across day, evening, weekend and nights. They are offered on a part time or full time basis (minimum 30 hours per week) inclusive of dedicated protected learning time of approximately 20%.
These training posts are offered under AfC band 7 Annex 21.
