We are a busy, performance driven team, delivering Finance Services on behalf of our clients and their circa 26,000 users. Our team works collaboratively across 3 locations on a hybrid basis: Swindon, Newport and Billingham.
Our finance services team provides the following services to our clients: Purchase to Pay, Accounts Receivable, Expenses including credit card management, Cash Forecasting and Payments, General Ledger and Non-Current Assets. We also offer some specialist areas such as VAT advice and guidance, EU Projects Audit Support and support for Government Counterparty exercises and Whole of Government Accounts.
As a Senior Operations Manager in Finance Services, you will play a key strategic role in leading part of the end-to-end finance operations across multiple clients, supporting the transition to new technologies and digital solutions, ensuring that finance processes align with UKSBS's evolving ERP and automation strategies, whilst driving the implementation of best practices into finance services.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Lead the day-to-day operations of part of the finance service across all of our clients, using multiple ERP systems.
2. Manage and develop a team of 30-40 team members, ensuring high performance and engagement.
3. Actively contribute to UKSBS's strategic direction by aligning your team's service roadmap to organisational objectives and transformation initiatives.
4. Ensure that all processes meet regulatory, statutory, and contractual requirements, delivering an efficient, compliant and high-quality service.
5. Support and drive continuous improvement within your team and wider service.
6. Ensure that your teams have a quality monitoring framework to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
7. Support your team and the Head of Service in the delivery of the extensive programme of change.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, third-party providers, and cross-functional teams within UKSBS.
9. Represent Finance at client partnership meetings and within governance forums to influence decision-making and service enhancements.
10. Act as a key liaison across all operational business areas to resolve complex challenges and deliver CI.
11. Monitor and report on service KPIs and SLAs.
12. Ensure that the necessary controls are in place for your service ensuring effective risk mitigation.
13. Identify and proactively manage risks, ensuring they are recorded and addressed in the risk register as appropriate.
To do this role well you will need:
1. Extensive experience in leading and developing teams within a finance shared service environment, across multiple locations.
2. A proven work history gained within at least one of the core finance services.
3. A finance qualification would be highly advantageous.
4. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build partnerships at senior levels.
5. Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvements and successfully manage change in an agile environment.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex service delivery issues.
7. Strong digital capability, with proficiency in MSO 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and experience leveraging technology to improve processes.
8. Proactive leadership style, with the ability to foster an inclusive and high-performing culture.
9. Considerable experience in delivering services via complex ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP or Workday.
10. Outstanding customer service skills that put the customer at the heart of everything we do.
In return for your skills and experience, we can offer you flexible and remote working options for a 37hr week (full time) with start and finish times between 8am - 6pm, or part time hours to suit.
