To undertake all duties as performed by phlebotomy supervisors in their absence. To support phlebotomy supervisors in their role. To engage and support phlebotomy supervisors in the compiling of staff rotas. Responsible for the safe disposal of contaminated materials, including sharps. Undertake reception duties, to welcome and advise patients and staff as required by supervisor. Responsible for the tracking and recording of samples to ensure that relevant information is available for audit purposes. Responsible for the recording of Key performance indicators for the phlebotomy department. Responsible for the amount of consumable stocks and their availability. Support less experienced members of staff in their orientation to the department and role. To provide and participate in appraisals and personal reviews and to work to achieve personal objectives. To participate in the provision of a comprehensive phlebotomy service 7 days per week and all days of the year. To assist with the provision of high quality service for staff and patients. Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
