The primary purpose of this role is to conduct independent research and contribute to the planning and execution of a research projects focused on using discrete choice experiments within the fields of agricultural and environmental economics. This research will have a specific focus on innovative practices aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in livestock systems. We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral economist to join the Gibson Institute for Land, Food, and Environment at Queen's University Belfast. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and delivery of research activities focused on using discrete choice experiments, with applications in agricultural and environmental economics, as part of the Project Re Livestock - Evaluate and mobilize the adoption of innovative practices to reduce GHG emissions and increase the capacity of livestock systems (re- The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in applied econometrics and be familiar with designing experimental designs for discrete choice experiments, as well as survey design and administration. The candidate is expected to be proficient in data analysis using advanced econometric modelling techniques for discrete choice experiments, including mixed logit models and hybrid choice models. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for independent research, planning, day-to-day operations, collaborations, and outreach activities. The position is available immediately. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria: Have a Degree in Economics, Environmental Economics, Agricultural Economics, or related subject area. Have or be about to obtain a PhD* in Economics, Environmental Economics, Agricultural Economics or related sciences (*must be obtained within3 months of commencement of employment). Have substantial relevant research experience in the areas of discrete choice experiments, including, experimental design, survey design and administration, data collection and analysis. Have Experience in the preparation of scientific publications / reports commensurate with research activity and career stage.
