Description
Reporting into the IT Continuity Lead, the IT Continuity Analyst is responsible for supporting IT Continuity processes and advocating for IT and Business Continuity across Motability Operations.
The scope includes, but is not limited to, protection against:
* Conventional continuity events.
* Cyber and extortion threats.
* Supplier stability and viability scenarios.
* Environmental changes and disasters.
The role involves overseeing governance and creating preventive and recovery systems to handle these threats, ensuring process continuity and verifiable restoration plans. The focus includes planning for ransomware defense within a pre-attack, peri-attack, post-attack framework, working with Security Operations to implement preventative and detective cybersecurity techniques, and integrating cybersecurity into Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies.
Day-to-day objectives, in collaboration with Business Risk and Business Continuity teams, include:
* Scenario Planning
* Supporting Disaster Recovery tests
* Supporting programs with DR expectations
* Continuous Improvement and Reporting
* Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
* Supporting Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and IT risk assessments
* Overseeing continuity solutions implementation
* Governance of testing and acceptance plans
* Risk analysis and evaluation
Qualifications
This role is ideal for someone passionate about IT Continuity, protecting organizational systems and data, and ensuring cyber resiliency. The candidate should be able to engage, persuade, and encourage teams in designing and implementing defenses in a cloud-first security environment. An interest in emerging threats like ransomware, climate change risks, and disaster scenarios is beneficial. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and defense strategies is advantageous.
Effective communication skills to influence and escalate issues are essential. The role suits self-starters who value quality, can work independently or in teams, prioritize effectively, and are adaptable. A desire to learn and grow in cloud technologies is also important.
Minimum Criteria
Candidates must have:
* Experience working with support teams, third parties, and programs
* Ability to promote best practices in IT and Business Continuity
* Good time management and multitasking skills
* Experience in continuous improvement initiatives
* Cloud platform engineering experience (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes) is advantageous
