Summary of the role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical, you will take on responsibility and challenges from day one. Joining global projects to provide specialist guidance and support as well as UK projects to ensure targets, project excellence procedures, and engineering/SHE standards are all met. Becoming a valued member of a goal-orientated team in addition to the relevant Asset Integrity panels and auditing teams.
Day-to-Day Activities
1. Be the Mitsubishi Chemical subject matter expert for electrical engineering on strategic projects based in the UK and overseas.
2. Take on the responsibilities and operations during front-end loading (FEL) and EPC within strategic projects.
3. Provide specialist electrical engineer support to our global manufacturing sites for medium -long-term work as well as emergency and short-term needs. Guide and coach developing electrical engineers.
4. Recommend best practices for electrical maintenance, acting as a technical authority in support of global manufacturing operations.
5. Ensure strategic projects are compliant with company SHE standards. Lead the appraisal and appointment of engineering design contractors as Design Authorities in accordance with company SHE Standards.
6. Lead/participate in Asset Integrity Procedure (AIP) and project audits.
7. Expand your network liaising with external and internal functional experts. Using peer review activities where appropriate.

10. Knowledge of Process Industry Practices (PIPs) and US PE requirements is an advantage.
11. An Individual comfortable with the design, specification, inspection, and testing of HV electrical distribution systems or electrical machines for industrial facilities (as either EPC Contractor or OEM).
12. Show a team player's work ethic to liaise with several different company teams effectively.
13. Willingness to undertake significant travel, including national and extended international placements.
Your Profile
14. A good degree in electrical engineering- minimum BEng/BSc; MEng/MSc is preferred.
15. Extensive work experience post-graduation with significant experience in one or more of the Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil and Gas industries.
16. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
17. Experience with on-site industrial power generation (e.g. CHP plants or similar).
18. Proficient with specialist software packages (SPEL, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AMTECH, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
