About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Stores & Plant Coordinator to manage and operate the Sevenoaks store function. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring, maintenance, and distribution of in-house plant and tools while working closely with the VVB Plant/Fleet Desk. You will ensure the efficient processing and delivery of plant/fleet purchase orders, supporting project operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the VVB Plant/Fleet Desk to fulfil hire requests.
Maintain the stores area, ensuring stock levels are sufficient and requisitions are issued for replenishment
Raise requisitions for replacement plant and tools via the Plant/Fleet Desk
Arrange for the removal and disposal of end-of-life plant and tool assets.
Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and quantity against purchase orders.
Liaise with project teams to coordinate the hiring and off-hiring of VVB-owned plant and tools.
Ensure deliveries align with purchase orders in collaboration with both the Plant/Fleet Desk and project teams.
Maintain an accurate inventory of the VVB master plant/fleet register.
Organise the delivery and collection of hired equipment to and from project sites.
Keep the store methodical and organised for operational efficiency.
Offload delivery vehicles using a forklift.
Provide storage utilisation reports to the Plant/Fleet Desk.
Ensure that all statutory inspections (fire protection, security systems, lifting equipment) for the Sevenoaks building are arranged and completed.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
Strong administrative skills with a good understanding of best practices.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Practical knowledge of tools and plant.
Awareness and experience in manual handling.
Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Full, clean driving license.
Counterbalance forklift license.
Desired:
Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance processes.
Health & Safety knowledge.
First Aid & Fire Marshal training.
Experience in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
Previous experience in plant hire/stores administration, preferably in the construction industry.
