Duties for this position will consist of:
* Carrying out varied duties such as reactive repairs, small planned projects, and maintenance.
* Completing plumbing installations, testing, and commissioning in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practices, and Health and Safety procedures.
* Maintaining regular communications via radio net in accordance with LSS.
* Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment through regular checking and testing of heating appliances and installations in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Undertaking incidental and emergency or urgent tasks and assignments as per Prison Service Specifications timescales, in a safe manner.
Minimum Requirements:
* Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating), or NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or Level 2 Plumber.
* Registration with gas safely is desirable but not essential.
* Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
* Familiarity with and ability to work for Water Supply HRES/FRM/05095 September 2019 Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
This role starts as temporary, although you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position, and generally, these roles tend to be long-term, given you are working with the existing maintenance team who are already based on site. You will be working Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8 am-5 pm, Friday 8 am-4 pm. The hourly rate is £23.23 an hour, with an overtime rate available via umbrella. Through PAYE, it is £23.23 an hour, Premium rate. Due to the nature of the environment, you will be asked to complete the standard Security Vetting for the establishments.
