OHanlon & Farrell is seeking to place an ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT. You will play a key role within the company and report directly to the Financial Controller. With the companys continued growth plans there will be the potential for increased responsibilities and therefore career progression. Key Responsibilities include: Financial Accounts Preparation of Quarterly Divisional Management Accounts Preparation of Year End Management Accounts (incl. Audit Pack) Quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations (incl. Backup) Preparing Ad Hoc Finance reports Completion of Statutory Government returns ie. VAT, RCT & CIS Monthly Bank Reconciliations Purchase & Subcontractor Ledger Management of Accounts Payable Function Ensuring Company Control/Procedures followed Maintain Monthly Aged Creditors Report Ensure Purchase Ledger Team Complete Quarterly Supplier Statement Reconciliations Monitor Supplier Credit Limits & negotiate settlement discounts Process UK CIS & ROI RCT Based Subcontractor Payments Others Work with Quantity Surveyor Team to Monitor Project Valuations & Credit Control Review & Approval of Weekly PAYE/LOSC Working closely within the Finance Team & Financial Controller on all key financial aspects of reporting within the business Adhering to all internal finance deadlines Develop in-house efficiencies, process improvement, reporting systems & improve internal controls/procedures. Being the first point of contact for external bodies, ie. HMRC, Revenue etc. Any other tasks as considered necessary Essential Experience: Qualified Accounting TechnicianOR Part Qualified Accountant OR Qualified by Experience A minimum of 4 years experience within a busy Finance function where they have managed others Construction Industry & Sage experience (desirable, but not essential) Essential Skills: Self-motivated and results orientated Excellent systems skills including a strong grasp of Excel.
