The Opportunity
Join a team of dedicated individuals providing an efficient and effective Caretaking service to the Council and Council Offices.
Accountabilities
* As a Caretaker at Castle Point Borough Council, you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the Council Offices by:
o Cleaning surfaces
o Hoovering floors
o Emptying rubbish bins
o Minor repairs and maintenance to the building, equipment, and surroundings.
* Moving office furniture such as chairs, desks, and computers.
* Key-Holder responsibilities.
* The operation of the intruder alarm systems and general security of the building.
* Acting as standby keyholder on an alternating basis and responding to call outs from the intruder alarm company.
* Dealing with postal deliveries and collections, including mail sorting.
* Occasional deliveries to other offices within the Borough.
* Acting as liaison officer and monitoring officer on behalf of the Facilities Manager with the cleaners and/or cleaning contractors.
* Training provided for career advancement.
The Experience You Will Bring
* Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
* Previous security/key-holder experience desirable.
* Physically fit.
* Local to Council Offices.
Working Pattern
The caretaker position will operate for 2 days a week (Thursday & Friday) on an alternating shift basis: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm / 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Thursday, and 6:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday.
