We are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to lead statutory reporting, technical accounting, and external financial compliance. As the in-house expert on IFRS and UK GAAP, you will ensure the accurate and timely preparation of statutory accounts while maintaining a robust control environment.
So, What will I be doing?
The Group Financial Accountant will collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators, while also supporting the Finance Director on company secretarial matters, including capital injections and corporate governance. You will also;
* Lead the preparation of the group statutory accounts in compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
* Manage the year-end audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
* Ensure all accounting policies and reporting treatments are applied correctly and consistently across the Group.
* Act as the key technical accounting expert advising on complex accounting issues, new standards, and best practices.
* Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with corporate tax, VAT, and other tax regulations.
* Ensure the accounting system is fully updated and aligned with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
* Support the Finance Director on company secretarial matters, including the preparation of capital injection papers.
What are we looking for?
The ideal person will have extensive experience in group statutory reporting and technical accounting with strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards. You will also have;
* Proven experience in managing external audits and working with external tax advisors.
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
* Highly detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Experience within the construction industry would be beneficial.
* Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
* Problem solving and decision-making skills.
