We are expanding our clinical site and discharge team, as we know this will directly impact us delivering excellent patient care.
The clinical site and discharge team are responsible for managing our hospital capacity including:
* emergency admissions
* non-emergency planned admissions
* managing the flow of patients during their stay to ensure they receive the right care as their needs change
* discharge planning/transfer of care

Main duties of the job
* Report to and deputise for the Senior Clinical Site Manager.
* Manage bed occupancy for emergency admissions, to include safe and appropriate patient placement and the effective use of beds linked with planned and projected discharges.
* Achieve capacity-related Trust performance and quality targets, the Clinical site management Team will provide on-site cover 24-hour a day, seven days per week.
* Provide a flexible team approach to ensuring there is a smooth, efficient and effective operational/bed management service covering 24 hour a day, 7 days week.
* Provide support, advice and direction to clinical ward teams, which will empower them to be pro-active in the management of patients.
* Ensure that all patients have a positive journey working in collaboration with the Senior Clinical Site Manager and ward based staff.
* Develop and implement robust and efficient plans that ensure achievement of Trust-wide goals.
* Promote clinical excellence and best practice across the Trust.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered professional to NMC or HCPC
* Evidence of academic achievement or related experience at post graduate degree level
Experience
* Experience of undertaking a clinical management role i.e. Duty sister, service co-ordinator
* Experience of staff and service management at an operational management level.
* Experience of effective clinical and managerial leadership and role modelling Innovative, pro-active, resourceful and self-motivated
Skills
* Ability to organise and prioritise work
* Understanding of relevant Government health strategies and implications for nursing
