DESCRIPTION
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring vital machinery remains operational at all times. As an RME Technician, you will maintain various equipment and workspaces while adhering to Health and Safety standards. Your efforts will help keep colleagues safe, prevent machine downtime, and enhance the operational environment.
Key job responsibilities
1. Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of site equipment
2. Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis within a live distribution warehouse
3. Utilize the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
4. Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
5. Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
6. Participate in continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across EU sites
A day in the life
Based on-site, RME Technicians respond quickly to machinery issues. You will conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely. When breakdowns occur, you will investigate, identify, and implement solutions promptly, while also suggesting long-term improvements. You will work alongside senior colleagues, perform daily maintenance tasks, liaise with external contractors when needed, and work on various shifts to support our sites around the clock.
About the team
The RME team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across Amazon’s global network of fulfillment centers. The team is composed of technically skilled professionals guided by experienced leaders. Opportunities for career progression exist within the RME team and across Amazon, working on innovative projects like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.
Our focus is on minimizing downtime to ensure timely delivery of orders. Maintenance is often scheduled during early or late hours, including night shifts. We encourage innovation and continuous improvement, adopting new processes and cutting-edge technology to enhance operational efficiency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Completed a full Engineering apprenticeship and/or qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering field
* Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
* Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
* Proficiency in the local language, both verbal and written
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in condition-based monitoring
* Experience with print and apply machines
* Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
