Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Power System Studies Engineer to support a range of onshore and offshore projects.
Details:
* Location: Leatherhead (hybrid working possible – 2 days remote)
* Start Date: ASAP
* Contract: 12-month
* IR35 Status: Outside IR35 (subject to Qdos assessment)
* Rate: £65.00 per hour (Ltd Co)
* Schedule: Monday – Friday – 4 Days in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting power system studies including:
* Equipment sizing
* Load flow analysis
* Short circuit calculations
* Dynamic motor starting
* Harmonic analysis
* Arc flash and transient stability
* Protection coordination
* Running studies directly and overseeing third-party vendors for studies (including those using EMT software)
* Ensuring technical compliance and delivery across multi-disciplinary teams
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in Power Systems Engineering
* Strong working knowledge of ETAP software (essential)
* Experience with renewable power systems, BESS, and grid interfacing up to 220kV
* Familiarity with EMT software for advanced modelling (advantageous)
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and UK grid codes
