The practice is currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Practice Nurse with primary care experience to join our small but friendly, professional team on a part-time basis.
We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to our patients.
We are offering a permanent post of 25-30 hours a week. There will be a need for flexibility to cover annual leave for the other Practice Nurse and HCA's.

Required Qualifications
* UK Registered Nurse with NMC
* Must be able to relay clinical information and maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records

* Able to work in a changing environment and implement change when applicable to provide high quality health care
* Flexibility of working days/hours
Main Duties of the Job
Main duties will include but not be limited to:
* Cytology
* Wound and ulcer care including removal of sutures and staples
* Day-to-day management of chronic diseases clinics particularly diabetes, including maintaining disease registers, management of condition, referrals to other members of the primary care team or community team
* Routine immunisations and vaccinations schedule
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs, bloods via ICE
* Contraception advice including Depo and pill checks
* Administration of injections including B12
* Day-to-day use of recall systems/processes
* Venepuncture
About Us
We are a rural dispensing practice with approximately 3110 patients. We have a lead GP and three salaried GPs, a practice manager, two practice nurses, a phlebotomist, three dispensers, and five admin staff.
We are rated 'Outstanding' with CQC and excellent patient care is important to the whole team.
We are set in a beautiful location with views of Corfe Castle.
Additional Responsibilities
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
* Mentor for newly employed Practice Nurses where appropriate
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* Travel Clinic
* ECGs
* Venepuncture
* Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Reviews for Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception. Asthma/COPD reviews/Spirometry - following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
* Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
* Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
* Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum 1 year experience within a primary care nursing team.
* Minimum 1 year experience in GP practice.
