NPD and Compliance Manager

Job Description:
Lead and manage the NPD and Technical services team and oversee the development process from concept to launch, ensuring that new products are innovative, high-quality, and market-leading. Optimize development processes and continually improve the service provided to customers. Ensure projects are delivered to the highest possible standards within agreed critical path timelines and commercial parameters set by both internal departments and external customers.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-profile projects as a senior specialist within product development and technical services.
2. Challenge current processes and practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.
3. Develop and mentor the NPD and Technical services teams, identifying key areas for training and succession planning.
4. Optimize the current development process to improve overall departmental performance and drive business growth.
5. Promote an innovative and creative culture throughout the NPD function.
6. Demonstrate strong leadership, ensuring successful networks and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Maintain customer and company quality standards, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
8. Build and maintain customer relationships.
9. Manage an overview of NPD projects and ensure they remain on track.
10. Stay updated with relevant legislation changes and champion knowledge transfer within the business.
11. Report departmental performance monthly through KPIs and seek constant improvement.
12. Promote and lead departmental growth and training through internal and external sources.
13. Handle all customer technical contacts, specifications, artwork, and enquiries.
14. Coordinate technical account management for retailers, including product development and safety compliance.
15. Coordinate customer site visits and drive improvements in product complaints.
16. Assist in health and safety initiatives and promote a clean working environment.
17. Communicate professionally and clearly, conducting staff briefings and training as needed.
18. Support management in achieving objectives regarding human resource issues.
19. Encourage personal performance and development of skills.
20. Promote customer satisfaction and brand protection.

Person Specification:
Qualifications: 5 GCSEs at grade A – D (or equivalent). Industry-recognized food technical qualification – HND/Degree or equivalent.
Experience: 5 years of experience in people management, previous NPD manager or Senior Technologist experience, experience launching products into various market sectors.
