Profit Protection Analyst

Hybrid – Handforth (ideally Tuesday and Wednesday), 3 days WFH

About the Role
As a Profit Protection Analyst, you will support the Profit Protection agenda by utilising data to identify trends, patterns, and transactional anomalies across all practices within Pets at Home stores. The remit is to screen for internal fraud, present findings for investigation, and identify weaknesses in systems or processes. You will also support our retail stores with requests for information or advice and work closely with other support office functions to help protect the business, our colleagues, and our pets against crime and dishonesty.
Responsibilities
* Analyse large sets of data; identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may highlight opportunities to develop systems or processes.
* Highlight outliers across performance KPIs and report these areas of risk back to the business.
* Make recommendations to improve processes and compliance; support and monitor the success of process changes.
* Identify gaps in data or access to systems.
* Develop screening reporting and monitor EPOS data for suspicious transactions, investigating where appropriate and packaging up internal and external cases for investigation.
* Support investigations remotely by liaising with the business partner and People Team (Transaction types will include refunds, discounts, voids, and subscriptions).
* Identify areas of improvement in reporting and efficiency of the reporting process.
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business where we monitor activity relating to their function.
* Support Business Partners and stores with requests for information and data related to investigations or security.
* Monitor VIP transactions in-store and online, stock management, and click & collect transactions.
* Where appropriate, communicate directly with customers to support the conduction of online fraud investigations.
* Provide analytical support where appropriate in relation to Profit Protection KPIs.

Experience (Essential):
* Strong PC literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience with RX Works.
* Experience with SAP BW, IDM Loss Manager, IntelliQ, or similar data mining and reporting platforms.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar data-driven role.
Experience (Desirable):
* Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with other professionals within the industry.
* Previous experience in Loss Prevention/Profit Protection/investigations is desirable but not essential.
