The team is responsible for key technologies within the kernel such as memory management, the scheduler, IO, scalability, performance, resource management, debugability and observability.
The candidate will work and contribute upstream in the area of memory management especially where it intersects with filesystems. As a senior Linux kernel engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Working closely with the upstream Linux kernel community to deliver new and innovative changes with a focus in memory management
2. Working closely with other Oracle groups to understand their requirements and deliver change supporting those requirements
3. Help mentor and guide junior engineers
To succeed with these responsibilities, the candidate should have:
4. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
5. 6-10+ years of experience with the Linux kernel
6. Deep understanding of memory management in the Linux Kernel
7. Excellent understanding of the Linux development process and a consistent record of upstream contributions

Canada: Hiring Range from $88,100 to $192,000 CAD per annum
US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
