Job Title: SEN Tutor - One-to-One Support
Location: Bracknell, RG12 area
Hours: Part-time, flexible schedule

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic SEN tutor to provide one-to-one support for a 14-year-old learner attending a Witherslack Group school. The student has diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, and ODD, and enjoys creative activities, sports, and hands-on learning. Challenges include emotional regulation, anxiety, and engagement in traditional educational settings.
This role involves delivering personalised academic support in literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills. The successful tutor will create a calm, structured learning environment and use flexible, non-directive teaching strategies to reduce anxiety and increase engagement. Building trust and consistency is essential.
You will collaborate closely with the student's family, school staff, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive support plan. Regular progress tracking, reflection, and child-centred planning are integral to this role.
Sessions may take place in the home, at school, or in the community, depending on the student's needs and engagement levels. The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, emotionally attuned, and capable of managing complex behaviours with confidence and empathy.
Essential skills and experience:
Strong background in SEN education or tutoring
Confidence in managing behaviour support and anxiety
Creative, adaptable approach to learning
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Familiarity with EHCPs and individualised teaching strategies
An enhanced DBS and references will be required.
