Job summary We are excited to invite applications for both Locum Consultant in Emergency General Surgery with an interest in either Upper or Lower GI surgery. The CDG9A General Surgery directorate is based at the Queen Elizabeth site. The directorate also includes a mix of Upper, Lower and Sarcoma Consultants based at the Queen Elizabeth site. The resident doctor team includes senior Specialist Registrars, senior clinical fellows and various resident doctors. The post holder will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the service with both elective and emergency to take a full part in the emergency on call rota in concert with the other General Surgical Consultants. You must observe agreed policies and procedures on clinical matters and should follow the standing orders and financial instructions of the Hospital. This is to support the development of evidence-based medicine and is not intended to constrain individual consultant freedom.
