Senior Development Technologist, 3-6mth FTC, Food Manufacturing

£40,000 - £45,000
Experienced Senior Development / Process Technologist required for chilled food manufacturer in the Southwest.
My client is a leading chilled food manufacturer producing award-winning products for the major retailers. They have multiple sites throughout the UK.
Due to a recent resignation, they are in urgent need of an experienced Senior NPD Technologist to join the business on an initial three-month fixed term contract, this may be extended.
Working closely with the NPD Manager, Chef, and NPD Technologist you will manage and deliver NPD and EPD projects taking ownership of the products through to launch and beyond.
You will work closely with the production teams to support successful trial approval and launches. You will also work with the commercial team to monitor commercial success of NPD launches.
You will be involved in the full concept to launch process including:
1. Innovation and idea generation – winning new business/growing existing
2. Workload planning and critical path management
3. Ingredient sourcing
4. Kitchen work
5. Costings
6. Nutritional information
7. Packaging development (with the purchasing team)
8. Factory trials through to launch
To apply you must:
* Be an experienced NPD / Process Technologist with experience of running trials in a number of chilled food manufacturing environments, producing products for the major retailers
* Be passionate about food and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest food trends and visiting new restaurants
* Have a good commercial understanding and be comfortable with generating product costings
* Thrive in a fast-paced environment and relish the challenges that come with driving Continuous Improvement and innovation
And finally, you will have a good background of building strong relationships with the retailers, with the ability to confidently present your ideas.
You must be available to start in October / November 2024.
