Maths Teacher - Surrey CR3 - Immediate Start
Prospero are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join an independent school in the Whyteleafe area (Surrey). The school has a strong Christian ethos, with a high standard of learning reflected in nationally accredited exam results. The school can facilitate children and young people between 7 - 18 years old. Students are taught virtually (onsite) and will be working at the national curriculum average starting immediately (February 2025). Due to the location, this role will ideally suit someone with their own transport.
Daily Rate: Paid to scale
Location: Whyteleafe, Surrey (South London)
Contract Type: Full Time, Temp-Perm
Start Date: Immediate (October 2024)
The successful applicants will have:
1. Previous experience working with secondary age students (key stage 3 & 4).
2. Ability to plan and deliver high quality, engaging lessons.
3. Experience teaching students virtually.
4. A thorough knowledge of the relevant curriculum areas up to KS4 and the ability to prepare pupils for public examinations.
5. The ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour during lessons.
6. Excellent classroom management skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students.
The role will consist of:
1. Teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths.
2. Teaching to a class of varying needs including varied types of learning levels.
3. Working closely with students, their parents/careers, and other members of staff to ensure that the students are happy and learning well.
4. Adapting the syllabus according to the individual students' EHCP.
5. Implementing and delivering an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students and supporting a designated learning area as appropriate.
6. Making appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupils' progress.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
1. Hold the right to work in the UK.
2. Hold or process an enhanced DBS certificate registered to the Update Service.
3. Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
