The role of this Personal Care Assistant:
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. The role is based in Lewes, Brighton in our clients own home. The waking night hours are 7pm to 7am on a Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
About the Client and Duties:
We are seeking a support worker for a joyful, humorous young man with complex care needs who requires continuous supervision and support.
He enjoys playing with Lego, watching TV, and visiting museums like the Imperial War Museum. Known for his quick humour and positive outlook, he enjoys life and college with the support of his family and care team.
Your role is to ensure his safety by supervising him, assisting with bathroom visits, responding during seizures, and administering his morning medication. Experience in a similar care role and familiarity with children’s British culture or similar interests are ideal.
We’re looking for someone friendly, enthusiastic, punctual, and with a great sense of humour!
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
Full induction
Safeguarding Adults
Health & Safety / Food Hygiene / First Aid
Moving & Handling / Administering of Medication
Personal Care
Epilepsy and Emergency Aid
Learning Disabilities and Autism Awareness
All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at £14.01 per hour
Requirements:
This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 - there is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit female support workers only
Experience in a similar care role is required
A willingness to provide holiday cover across the team
Commitment to long-term, person-centred care
