UKTV Creative is an award-winning in-house team, responsible for creating and delivering on and off air promotion for our diverse network. Our work varies from large-scale originated projects, through design-led and content-based on-air executions to print, digital and radio.
Working closely with the wider Marketing team and a number of external agencies, the Creative team acts as a point of creative continuity and cohesion across all elements of the business, ensuring that UKTV is always represented by fresh, original, and brand-defining communications. We are also creatively ambitious, with the desire to generate award-winning creative and successfully compete beyond broadcast with the marketing and creative community at large.
Purpose of the role
As a Senior Creative at UKTV you will be instrumental in bringing to life the different channel brands and realizing an overall creative vision for the UKTV network. In this role you will get to...
Reporting into one of UKTV's Creative Managers, you will be responsible for generating creative across a mix of diverse channel brands. Your work will vary from large-scale multifaceted integrated campaigns, to shooting with talent or writing brand ads, to simpler, but no less important assets such as ingenious low-budget solutions to brief or content-based on-air promos.

What we would like you to bring to the role....key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities
* Has previous experience as a creative in the creative broadcast industry
* Has a proven track record of conceiving, directing and editing award-winning AV work, and OOH
* Is able to demonstrate examples of written copy
* Can generate a great deal of campaign ideas, creative hooks that genuinely work in AV, OOH, Social and Experiential
* Is an expert creative all-rounder capable of writing award-winning long and short copy, pitching your ideas to internal stakeholders and production companies, directing shoots big and small, editing your own originated and clip-based material, as well as collaborating effectively with designers, audio engineers and marketeers
* Is comfortable taking a brief, interpreting it and responding with ideas that are creatively fresh but also completely on brief
* Has CREATIVITY - an ability to generate 360 campaign ideas that are both innovative and effective
* Can be a PROJECT LEAD - you will be the guardian of your own ideas, responsible for executing and protecting them through the production and sign-off processes, solely responsible for the final creative output
* Has AMBITION - you have a restless desire to create genuinely great work. As a Senior Creative you lead by example and set the tone for the rest of the team, ensuring the work created is always kept to a high standard
Skills
* Exceptional, proven creative skills, with the necessary experience to creatively work with others across all media (on air, off air, design & branding)
* Basic editing skills either on Avid or FCP
* Commercially literate, with a strong understanding of the key commercial drivers
* A proven ability to foster collaborative working relationships and build alliances with key stakeholders
* A team player that is happy to share ideas, take constructive feedback from teammates and share or take on additional workload when required
* An excellent communicator with a proven ability to inspire trust and confidence, and influence up to a senior level, both internally & externally
* The ability to get to the great ideas and the energy & vision to execute those great ideas to their full potential
* The drive & passion to creatively stand out from the crowd and to acquire an excellent standard of work
Experience
* Essential to have significant experience in a creative role within a television broadcaster and a proven track record of successfully launching a variety of acquired and commissioned content, across a portfolio of channels and genres
* Experience of directing on-air promos &/or TV ads
* Experience of having worked to clearly defined budgets of varying scale, adhering to tight financial controls & deadlines

* Reporting to the Creative Manager and liaising with channel Marketers, to ensure that all work is delivered on brief and adheres to the channels brand guidelines but at the same time stands out and engages the target audience
* To collaborate with our agency partners to ensure joined up thinking across different advertising and social platforms
* Demonstrates an understanding of the channel brands, content, target consumers, and growth strategies; ensuring that creative work fits the task in hand
* To ensure consistent creative standards and approaches across the channel brands, e.g., consistent personality, tone of voice, and executional attributes for on-air promotions
* Has an understanding of market rates / costs (creative services) and production techniques / capabilities to ensure work presented is achievable within campaign budget
* Proactively responds to campaign & channel performance, identifying issues & opportunities, and driving change
* Ensure that UKTV Creative is a key enabler in realizing key business, brand, and marketing objectives
* To ensure that all creative work is underpinned by a fertile, and strategically relevant creative idea
* To ensure that all executional work remains true to the creative idea and brand identity, and is consistent across all on & off-air mediums
* Is well organized and successfully multitasks several projects, prioritizing accordingly across several channels
* Takes the initiative to propose & 'own' solutions, involving & aligning other stakeholders in a timely fashion
* Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy, taking the initiative and operating independently against agreed objectives, involving stakeholders accordingly
