Our client who designs and manufactures production line equipment is keen to recruit an Automation Technician to design and programme PLCs, touchscreens, and controls.
The role involves working with electricians and panel builders to design and build the control system, program, and commission the machines in-house at the purpose-built factory and at customers' sites, so some worldwide travel is required on occasion.

Duties:
* Designing PLC-based electrical control systems from design specifications.
* Programming PLCs, touchscreens, and safety configurable relay systems.
* Configuring remote I/O, servo motor, and inverter drives.
* Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines, such as vision systems.
* Fault finding on electrical control systems, PLCs, and hardwired systems.
* Commissioning, support, and service work at customers' sites.
Requirements:
* Must have previous experience of PLC programming, touchscreens, and controls.
* Must have a good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel specifications, and design.
* A good understanding of vision and SCADA systems is also required.
* Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous.
* Experience of explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable.
* Product training will be given on specialist machinery and equipment.
* Must be willing to undertake overseas travel on occasion.
