Could you help reduce accident and fire risks for children and young people across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove?
An opportunity has arisen for a confident and driven person to lead our small but effective youth engagement team to deliver bespoke youth engagement activities that reduce risk, improve life chances, self-esteem and opportunities.
Although based at Eastbourne fire station the successful candidate will work across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, delivering youth engagement sessions either with fire service colleagues or in collaboration with the Police, Local Authorities, the third sector and health colleagues.
You will be responsible for identifying emerging threats, risk and harm through data led intelligence and information from our wider partners.
With the appropriate training, you will be able to offer prevention advice on the dangers and consequences of fire and other safety matters including Water, Road and health related safety to educate all those you make contact with whilst delivering a high-quality service.
You will have experience in working with children and young people, including those experiencing multiple disadvantage. The role would suit someone with an education or child social care background. Previous experience of child /adult safeguarding protocols would be advantageous.
You will possess excellent attention to detail with the ability to engage with members of staff and the public. You will be responsible for the team’s performance to achieve agreed performance indicators. Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, applicants will possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work with children and young people. Applicants must hold a current UK driving licence.

DBS and Non-Police Personnel Vetting
