Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified Echocardiographer to join our team. The successful candidate must be BSE accredited and competent to issue independent echo reports, providing teaching for medical and physiologist staff. You will have a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, registration, and ILS / ALS.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Completion of MSc Scientist Training Programme (STP) or equivalent (e.g. BSc in Clinical Physiology or HTEC MPPM with SCST Parts I and II)
* Relevant Masters Degree or equivalent – Certified Echocardiographer, holding current British Society of Echocardiography accreditation
* Registered with RCCP
* ILS
* ALS
* Training or Leadership Qualification
Experience
* Experience of autonomous scanning and reporting of Echocardiograms post qualification
* Able to utilise specialist and technical knowledge of cardiac ultrasound in line with evidence-based practice
* Able to utilise specialist and technical knowledge of a range of cardiac ultrasound machines / reporting systems
* Ability to work as an independent practitioner within echocardiography
Knowledge and Skills
* Able to perform a broad range of cardiological techniques employed within the department
* Ability to utilise wide, thorough and up-to-date specialist postgraduate level knowledge across the full range of cardiac physiology investigations including advanced techniques such as Stress echocardiography and Tissue Doppler
* Be highly specialised in a full range of echocardiography procedures, including stress echocardiography, contrast or TOE
* Ability to speak Welsh

* Frequently required to perform tests on patients who are infectious, have distressing conditions or body odours
