About the role:
The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting the Membership and Supporter events programme, under the guidance of the Membership and Supporter Events Manager. The Membership events programme should engage Members with the Museum and its work and increase retention rates by acting as a valued benefit.
Key areas of responsibility:
* Work with the Membership and Supporter Events Manager to design an appropriate annual event schedule, considering how best to engage Members during the year and alignment with the Museum’s programme of exhibitions.
* Ensure events are planned and delivered to a set budget.
* Work with the wider Engagement team to agree how events will be communicated to Members, including providing copy.
* Liaise with speakers and contractors regarding promotional literature and publicity photography.
* Event planning including preparing event briefs and risk assessments as appropriate; coordinating, developing, delivering and evaluating each event.
About you:
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; English and Maths essential.
* Previous experience coordinating both large and small events, ideally including experience of following relevant legislation and health and safety guidance.
* Highly organised and creative, with excellent planning skills and strong understanding of event design, development, delivery and review.
* Confident user of software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Flexible, proactive and a good team player.
