An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time Ward Clerk on Ward 8D Infectious Diseases at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The Ward is a 28 bed Infectious Diseases unit with a fast turnover of patients requiring the successful candidate to be extremely organised, committed, and hard working. It is essential that candidates have excellent IT skills and can speak confidently to patients when dealing with their enquiries either face to face or over the phone.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for using trust patient IT systems including pens/dashboard and IPM, ensuring patient discharge letters are sent and filed, and that follow-up appointments for their next treatment are arranged if required. Enhanced organisational skills are required to ensure confidentiality is maintained and case notes, letters, and documentation are kept securely. The ideal candidate must be approachable, committed, and kind, and wish to actively participate in what is a friendly and hard working team as well as interact directly with the general public.
The main roles include:
1. Answering the phone
2. Good basic computer skills
3. Ensuring patients' appointments have been booked
4. Filing and organising on the clinical area

The role of the ward clerk includes answering the phone, dealing with patient enquiries, filing notes, ensuring documentation is correct, and ordering documentation required for the ward. Responsibilities also include ensuring the digital boards are correct with consultant information, using the IPM system to make sure patients have arrived for their appointments, and sending out appointment letters.
