Non-Executive Member of the Wales Audit Office Non-Executive Member £12,500 per annum, non-pensionable, 2-3 days per month. Location : Wales The Wales Audit Office (WAO) Board has responsibility to develop the strategic direction of the WAO and ensure the functions of the organisation are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. The organisation employs around 280 staff, and the Auditor General is its Chief Executive and Accounting Officer. The Auditor General is a statutory office holder responsible for a range of audit functions including the audit of the accounts of most public bodies in Wales. The Senedd (Welsh Parliament) is looking to appoint a Non-Executive Member to the Board, to commence in July 2025. In total the WAO Board comprises nine members, five of whom are non-executives (including the Chair) plus the Auditor General for Wales and three employees of the WAO. The Non-Executive Members are appointed by the Welsh Parliament (‘the Senedd’). One employee member is nominated by the Auditor General and the other two are appointed by the Non-Executive Members following a ballot of WAO staff.
