Manufacturing Manager
£50,000, + Bonus up to 10%, Bristol, BS10, 33 days incl bank hols, working Monday to Friday 38 hours, Monday to Thursday 7am - 4 pm - (early finish Fridays), Pension and free parking.
An established and successful aerospace engineering company in Bristol is recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager who will report directly to the Managing Director.
The Manufacturing Manager role will involve the following:
* Managing the manufacturing element of the organisation ensuring high-quality business activities are achieved with maximum efficiency.
* Ensuring customer schedules for on-time delivery are achieved through continuous improvement, production planning, and new machinery requirements (CAPEX).
* The smooth running and organisation of the manufacturing team, identifying where training and development is required, implementing and contributing to the training of the people within their team.
* Weekly and regular meetings with the production controller, procurement, and the machine shop supervisors to check on work in progress and resolve any bottlenecks.
* Managing and monitoring all customer schedules and delivery requirements, adjusting work plans and flows to react to changing demand.
* Analysing manufacturing operations/processes to improve mechanisms for manufacturing and associated activities.
* Ensuring sales outputs and KPIs are met with the support of the senior management team to ensure on-time delivery for customers, which in turn drives additional business.
* Staff appraisals for development, coaching, and general support to manage performance and ensure production targets are met.
* Assisting senior management in the development and preparation of the strategy and general business planning of the organisation.
* Interacting and liaising with sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers on a regular basis with site visits from time to time and regular online meetings.
Desirable skills and qualifications for the Manufacturing Manager:
* Technical expertise in the Aerospace industry or a related Engineering field within a manufacturing environment.
* A professional qualification and background in engineering to HNC/D, degree, or equivalent level.
* Extensive knowledge in CNC machining processes in manufacturing.
* Experience in managing existing production processes and continuous improvements.
* Ability to influence people, build trust, and establish effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
* Working knowledge of LEAN processes and CI practices.
* Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000, AS9100.
