Our Pensions Administration business continues to grow and we are now looking for a Pensions Technical Analyst to join our vibrant Middlesbrough office with hybrid working. This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience in a similar role where they have gained knowledge and experience of defined benefit pension schemes, public sector pension schemes and technical pensions legislation.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing guidance to both the Middlesbrough office, and to Public Sector clients, relating to scheme rules / requirements and overriding legislation.
As a Pensions Technical Analyst with XPS you will:
1. Build and maintain good relationships with clients
2. Liaison with Actuaries and Benefit Consultants on legislative matters.
3. Act as a focal point for all technical queries
o Assess complex technical pension issues and provide specialist expertise to team members and clients
o Contribute to the design and development of new approaches and solutions in line with business and/or client needs
4. Design and presentation of training seminars and programmes to scheme members, pension's administration staff or employer's staff as required.
5. Production of office procedures documentation, training manuals and other documentation as required.
6. Raise the profile of XPS Administration in the Public Sector by contributing to local and national forums and debates.
Your profile
Essential Criteria
* Previous pensions administration experience of Defined Benefit (DB) schemes.
* Solid awareness of scheme rules, industry regulations, current pensions legislation and how these impact on the business and its systems
* Must be able to understand and comment on complex legislation
* Good commercial financial awareness
* Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Experience of dealing with external clients
Desirable Criteria
* Advantageous to have experience of administering the Local Government Pension Scheme

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following requirements:
