NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is looking to recruit an Assistant Head of PMO to support the continued development of the NWSSP PMO and Service Improvement Team.
The role will lead the implementation of a number of projects and support service improvement in line with our IMTP (integrated medium-term plans) strategic objectives and other key business requirements.
The Assistant Head will be expected to have a sound understanding of NHS Wales and the relationship NWSSP has with Healthboards and Trusts. The post holder must possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, which will help ensure policies, processes, and methodologies are developed and adopted across the organisation and wider boundaries.
The post will also seek to support and embed good practice across the organisation, working closely with stakeholders from all services within NWSSP and NHS Wales. In addition, the post holder must also be a determined and passionate Project Programme and improvement advocate, focused on delivering projects, programmes, and improvements to the highest standard, following already in use principles and clearly focused on evidencing benefit realisation and successful business change. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh applicants are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Head will lead a small team on a range of initiatives including complex projects, reviewing complex data, communicating data issues, and accurately analysing and interpreting information to inform all aspects of work and supporting general service improvement. The post will also seek to support and embed best practice across the organisation, working closely with stakeholders from all services within NWSSP and NHS Wales and seek to foster strong working relationships with NWSSP divisions and services. Projects, programmes, and improvements will vary between new service implementation, business change, and other business nominated improvements offering excellent development opportunities. In addition, the post holder must also be a determined and passionate Project Programme and improvement advocate, focused on delivering initiatives to the highest standard, following already in use good practice and clearly focused on benefit realisation and successful business change.

Experience
* Experienced in successfully managing the full life cycle of projects.
* Working with managers and staff at all levels including Director/Senior level/Executive level.

* Experience with the three-year integrated medium-term planning process.

Qualifications

* PRINCE2 Practitioner, similar qualification, or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge.
* Knowledge of the current strategic direction of NHS Wales specifically NWSSP.
* Prudent Healthcare and the Value-based agenda.
* Better Business Cases/Five Case Model foundation.
