About the Role
The Electoral Services Officer will be responsible for processing a variety of statutory registration and voting applications and determining the outcome through independent decision making, providing technical advice to a wide range of stakeholders, and providing high-level administrative support for the delivery of elections and electoral registration in line with modern ways of working and professional best practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A Certificate in Electoral Administration or a willingness to work towards it
2. Experience of working in an Electoral Services Team or other statutory or regulatory role and delivering projects, to strict legal deadlines, at pace, and often under pressure
3. Knowledge of electoral legislation and its application along with associated guidance and software systems, as well as Windows-based IT packages
4. Proven analytical skills and ability to interpret complex information, excellent communication skills, and experience of engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders using tact and diplomacy, creativity, and innovation to find solutions to problems and overcome obstacles to ensure deadlines are met
