We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated leader to manage Children's Ward & Children's Assessment Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
You will be able to manage and lead the team effectively, providing support to staff and ensuring the provision of safe, efficient, and quality care to children, young people & their families.
Main duties of the job
1. Have continuing responsibility for the department-based personnel service over a 24-hour period.
2. Manage the department taking responsibility for the delivery and coordination of care delivery.
3. Ensure an effective, efficient, and quality service is delivered.
4. Develop a team culture of dynamic solution-based thinking, working, and behaving.
5. Understand care group objectives and assist in the management of activity in line with key performance indicators.
6. In conjunction with the Matron, support and manage Clinical leaders and all staff to achieve excellence in all aspects of care delivery throughout the patient journey.
7. Provide effective leadership and line management to all grades of staff, directing and monitoring activities against defined objectives.
8. Plan service innovations and developments in conjunction with Matron and clinical leaders to ensure an effective working and learning environment for the multidisciplinary team.
9. Ensure that the ward environment meets national, local, and care group required standards.
10. Lead on patient safety and quality measures.
11. Develop successful working relationships with key users/MDT and other senior clinical and non-clinical managers.
12. Deputise for the Matron when required.
Person Specification
Registered Children's Nurse
1. Post-registration study.
2. Teaching and assessing qualification.
3. Advanced Paediatric Life Support.
4. Registered Children's Nurse on NMC.
5. Experience of managing staff.
6. Experience of leadership.
7. Evidence of setting and monitoring quality standards.
8. Good organisational skills.
9. Budget control.
10. Ability to prioritise time.
11. Ability to coordinate departmental services in the absence of senior staff.
12. Ability to work alongside other care groups in meeting the needs of children/young people.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year (Per annum pro rata)
