Department Description
The Distribution team are responsible for the development and execution of the Allica Bank commercial strategy to generate profitable opportunities to meet SME customer needs safely. Key activities include:
1. Working with targeted Key Business Introducers (‘KBIs’) including Asset and Commercial Finance Brokers, Accountants, Solicitors, suppliers, and other finance providers.
2. Key account management of ‘Target’ KBIs, suppliers, and Accountancy firms.
3. Regionally distributed, SME focused Business Relationship Managers (‘BRMs’) creating relationships with local SMEs, KBIs, and professional networks.
4. Raising awareness of the Allica Brand locally and nationally in conjunction with Marketing colleagues.
5. Supporting Customers with account management and further borrowing requirements.
Purpose of Role
To support the execution of the Bank’s Asset Finance KBI strategy and deliver a professional relationship management service to KBIs by providing an exemplary level of customer service and assisting in maximising value to Allica, KBIs, and customers.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Providing first line support to KBIs and the Bank’s Operations Team through being an Asset Finance product and market expert.
2. Handling inbound calls and making outbound calls to develop new business, resolve any issues and progress transactions.
3. Building and relationship managing a portfolio of UK based Asset Finance KBIs alongside the external BDMs.
4. Supporting and submitting lending applications in line with Allica’s Credit Policy.
5. Working closely with field-based colleagues and the Head of Asset Finance / Chief Commercial Officer.
6. Owning the customer service provided to ensure excellent service for KBIs, prospective customers, and existing customers.
7. Contributing to product and channel development.
8. Maintaining accurate customer records and updating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
9. Being responsive to stretching and often competing requests.
10. Promoting the Bank's culture and values.
11. Compliance with all mandatory policies and adherence to operational procedures.
12. Establishing and actively managing objectives and a personal development plan.
Personal Attributes & Experience
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of career progression in business development within a Relationship Management role in Asset Finance.
2. Proven ability to source and develop KBIs.
3. Sound knowledge of broader commercial banking products associated with SME businesses.
4. Proven banking relationship management skills in judgmental SME and/or Commercial lending.
5. Proven track record in providing excellent customer service and generating significant new income opportunities.
6. Ability to structure Asset Finance proposals and write credit applications.
7. Ability to analyse and review financial accounts and associated information.
