Part-time (3-days a week) Speech and Language Therapist at New Forest Care School - Start date March 2025. We are looking for an qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary, dynamic team at New Forest Care School. We anticipate applicants to be in a Band 6 role currently, or at the point of transition from a Band 6 to a Band 7 role. New Forest Care School is an independent specialist provider of education on the edge of the New Forest, Hampshire, for children aged from 8-16 who have a range of severe or complex needs, including children with autism, challenging behaviours, complex attachment needs and SEMH, across five education settings. Enthusiastic and highly motivated, you will be joining a wider clinical team that includes Assistant SaLT staff, Occupational Therapists, Clinical/Forensic Psychologists, Therapists (including Creative Therapists), Mental Health Nurses, and a School Counsellor. You will work alongside our SENCO Team, undertaking SaLT work identified through EHCP's. We offer the opportunity to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis within small class sizes, or in small group work. The role and responsibilities include: · assessment of students’ needs for Speech and Language Therapy · to develop and implement specialist Speech and Language Therapy interventions and evaluation of interventions · to develop suitable materials to support Speech and Language Therapy · to contribute written and verbal reports of Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention work as required · to work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCO’s to support the generalisation of language skills in education settings · to supervise Speech and Language Therapy Assistants · to provide advice and support to other staff members in regard to the management and response to a child's identified communication difficulties · to attend meetings as required · to liaise with other staff as required The successful candidate will have: · Professional Qualified Speech and Language Therapy Qualification to degree level · HCPC Registration · Professional experience to meet criteria for a Band 6 or Band 7 role · Knowledge and experience across assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation · Knowledge and experience of a range of interventions to develop social skill development, and speech and communication needs · Commitment to evidence-based practice · Ability to work positively in a multi-disciplinary team · Excellent communication and teamwork skills · Passionate about supporting children Why Choose New Forest Care?
