Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north. The Northern Health Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Northern Health and has a mission to raise funds to invest in medical equipment, training and research, scholarship programs and to increase community awareness and engagement.
The Opportunity
The Board of Northern Health Foundation is now seeking Board and Committee members who have specialist skills and connections in the following areas of expertise:
* Social Impact/Philanthropy and Community Relations.
* Business Leadership Roles in Commerce & Industry.
* Legal & Corporate Governance.
Responsibilities
Currently, the Board meets quarterly and considers urgent matters out-of-session as required. Directors are personally required to:
* Attend in person or remotely and actively participate in Board meetings.
* Stay informed about Board matters, be prepared for Board meetings and serve on Board sub-committees.
* Support the Foundation’s mission and purpose by utilising their skills, experience, knowledge and networks to facilitate introductions to potential donors, sponsors and key stakeholders.
* Attend fundraising and community events (at least one per year).
* Build collegial working relationships with other directors and actively support a values-based, forward-looking and collaborative Foundation culture.
Selection Criteria
Ideally, applicants should have skills and experience in the following areas:
* Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the non-profit sector.
* A passion for Community Engagement, demonstrated by strong values and extensive experience in building impactful relationships among diverse communities and individuals.
* Specialist knowledge and connections within their area of expertise.
* Applicants must be eligible to be a Board Director.
