Role Title: Operational Change Manager
Duration: contract to run until 30/04/2025
Location: Knutsford, Hybrid 2-3 days per week
Rate: up to £685.13 p/d Umbrella
Role purpose / summary
The Operational Change Team manages non-technical delivery, which supports the internal CSO capability & operation, ensuring robust governance wrapper applied to all activity. The Operational Change Manager (AVP) is responsible for delivering change activities supporting the development of CSO. They will ensure all aspects of assigned activities are scoped, planned, tracked, and managed to successful completion. As the business strategy alters over time, the manager will need to adjust or re-align delivery/priorities accordingly.
Key Skills/ Requirements
* Lead in the creation, communication, and implementation of Operational Change Initiatives in CSO.
* Work with the PMO to support initiatives; create & maintain detailed project plans covering all deliverables (process, people, IT, control) and dependencies while actively assessing and managing risk.
* Deliver status reporting against milestones, ensuring transparency of risks and issues while coordinating management of internal and third party resources.
* Create communication materials for multiple levels of stakeholders and manage day-to-day activities ensuring delivery accountability.
* Ensure that projects and initiatives meet agreed delivery requirements and that acceptance is managed against agreed criteria and defined plans.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership:
* Influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation to guide stakeholders on the impact of change and the need for recommended mitigations.
* Collaborate with business teams/stakeholders to ensure that the change meets the needs of the business from a colleague and customer perspective.
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business area and technical community.
* Engage with business sponsors and stakeholders to develop a network of support for change delivery.
* Use knowledge of business areas across CSO to provide advice and recommendations to influence decisions.
Decision-making and Problem Solving:
* Demonstrate decision-making skills and good organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Be resilient and innovative, eager to consider new and better ways of working.
* Identify risks based on information gathered from projects and programmes to support decision-making.
* Make recommendations to the Operational Change Lead on corrective actions needed in the change portfolio.
Risk and Control:
* Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
* Experience of working on Operational Change activity with a good understanding of the clients' Change frameworks.
* Strong relationship building, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
* Demonstrate agility in approach and thinking, offering alternative creative solutions.
* Ability to make evaluative judgements based on analysis to resolve problems.
Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in leading and managing multiple stakeholders within a complex matrix environment.
* Experience of project mobilisation, initiation, and planning.
* Demonstrable security awareness and understanding of security in the business context.
* Skilled in Microsoft Office and Project/Programme Management software tools.
