Job Title: Bar Supervisor

Job Description:
The Grosmont Crossing Club is looking for a dedicated and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our friendly team. As Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the bar, ensuring excellent service standards, efficient bar management, and a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests. You will also oversee bar staff, manage stock, and ensure that the bar is always clean, organised, and well-stocked. You will be expected to report back to the elected committee on the running of the Grosmont Crossing Club.
Key Responsibilities:
* Bar Operations:
* Supervise and support bar staff during shifts.
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, professional environment.
* Prepare and serve drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, according to club standards.
* Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization at the bar area, ensuring it’s always stocked and presentable.
* Manage and monitor the cellar, ensuring the proper storage of all drinks and equipment.
* Ensure kegs are correctly stored, handled, and connected.
* Check temperatures and ensure that all beer lines and systems are in good working order.
* Carry out regular cleaning of beer lines and systems to maintain product quality.
* Schedule and perform necessary maintenance or repairs on equipment as needed.
Stock Management:
* Oversee stock levels of both wet and dry goods, ensuring appropriate quantities are maintained.
* Place orders for beverages, supplies, and stock as needed, ensuring all stock is delivered and stored appropriately.
* Monitor stock rotation to prevent waste and ensure fresh supplies.
Health & Safety Compliance:
* Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines and alcohol licensing laws.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the bar and cellar.
Other Duties:
* Assist with training and developing bar staff.
* Support with planning and running events and special functions.
* Provide feedback and suggestions for improving bar operations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in bar work, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of cellar management and line cleaning practices.
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage a team.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask.
* Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
