An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Business Unit for a part time Band 4 Medical Secretary.
The post will be to work directly with 2/3 Consultant Surgeons and their team providing a comprehensive range of secretarial, administrative and waiting list support.
To provide an efficient Medical Secretarial service to the Consultants and their team in respect of NHS work. To act as a pathway coordinator for patients, secretaries and Consultants within the T+O unit and provide cross cover for the other medical secretaries and waiting list co-ordinators.
Time management skills and flexibility will be important qualities in order to balance the demands of a very busy workload as well as excellent communication and IT skills. You will have demonstrable medical secretarial experience with excellent typing skills. A knowledge of the waiting list and 18 week patient pathway is desirable.
The postholder will work directly with and support the Clinicians and therefore will be responsible for administering meetings, including minute taking.
