Teaching Assistant - The Hub Bincombe Bincombe Valley Primary School Dorset Grade 5 XS10.4 Term time only (38 weeks) including 2.5 staff training days or equivalent CPD twilight time Hours: 8:45am – 3:15pm daily Fixed Term contract for 1 year (initially) The Hub Bincombe is a newly opened 14-place Primary Inclusion Hub that focuses on pupils with Communication and Interaction identified as their primary need. We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant, preferably with a proven track record of supporting children’s academic and pastoral needs in the classroom. In addition, experience of working with pupils with SEND is important. Experience of working with Early Years or Key Stage 1 pupils would also be an advantage as the Hub uses a continuous provision style approach to learning. The successful applicant will need to be able to work well with parents, staff and outside agencies. You will be flexible, enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to engage learners. The successful applicant will preferably have an NVQ Level 3 (minimum NVQ Level 2) in the field of Teaching and Learning, or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate a suitable level of English and Maths skills, equivalent to GCSE standard, which will be assessed at interview. An understanding of the National Curriculum and the expectations for pupils by the end of Key Stage 2 is essential. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
