The Role
As an Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Finance to provide essential financial insights, management, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate on operational budgets and five-year plans.
2. Oversee fee management, including invoices, collections, and debtor analysis.
3. Provide VAT advice, manage computations, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
4. Produce financial reports and rolling forecasts for senior leadership teams.
5. Ensure financial governance, audit readiness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
6. Support the financial management of capital and maintenance projects.

The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. About you:
1. Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
2. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
3. Proven experience with VAT, including explaining complex concepts to non-finance colleagues.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to think creatively and strategically to support school outcomes.
6. Passion for working within the education sector.
