The Global Training Design Manager serves as the primary leader for training design at Genus, overseeing the development and deployment of learning materials across various business units to align with the global L&D strategy. Reporting to the Global Learning & Development Director, this role manages a Learning and Development Designer (s), ensuring high-quality, accessible training that meets both global standards and regional needs. This position emphasi s es cross-functional collaboration, technical alignment with Genus’s IT systems, and continuous quality improvement through data-driven insights. With global operational flexibility, the Global Training Design Manager plays a crucial role in delivering impactful learning solutions that support Genus’s strategic objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Strategic Design Leadership Acts as the central contact for training design across Genus, overseeing the development of learning materials for various business units, including leadership, ABS/PIC, and Group, aligned with Genus’s global L&D strategy. Manages a Learning and Development Designer based in the Americas, prioritising and distributing workload to meet timelines, quality standards, and specific needs of ABS/PIC and Group. Aligns all design initiatives with global L&D strategic priorities to ensure impactful contributions to organisational goals. Leverages expertise in design software, including Articulate and other industry-leading tools, to create high-quality, engaging learning content. Keeping Current with Design Trends Continuously updates knowledge on the latest trends in instructional design and learning technology. Integrates modern design principles into Genus’s training materials, ensuring they remain innovative and effective. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Partners with HRBPs, SMEs, and regional training teams to gather insights and feedback on training needs, creating relevant and impactful materials. Builds and maintains strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to align initiatives with business objectives, providing regular updates and gathering feedback. IT Integration and Technical Alignment Ensures that training materials are fully compatible with Genus’s IT systems, including GenusOne, working closely with IT for seamless integration and resolving technical challenges. Manages global deployment, adapting content as needed for regional requirements to ensure accessible, high-quality resources for all employees. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Leads the quality assurance process, ensuring high standards of effectiveness, accessibility, and engagement, with a focus on continuous improvement through learner and stakeholder feedback. Develops and tracks metrics to assess training effectiveness, implementing data-driven improvements to enhance learning experiences. Workload Management and Coordination Oversees workload distribution among Learning and Development Designers, prioritising projects by strategic importance and deadlines. Facilitates collaboration across regions, supporting consistent quality and alignment with local adaptations as needed. Education - Degree in Instructional Design, Education, HR, or related field Licenses/Certifications - Preferred certifications in eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate) and L&D (e.g., CIPD Level 5 minimum). Experience - 5 years in L&D with a focus on instructional design for global audiences. Skilled in eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate, GenusOne) and LMS platforms. Experience leading teams and working in a cross-functional, global setting. Proven record in quality assurance for training materials. Other - Strong project management and communication skills. Knowledge of instructional design trends and adult learning principles. Data-driven with experience in assessing training effectiveness. High cultural awareness for working with diverse teams.
