The role:
Workshop Technician Team Leader - Powerplant Support Facility
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Powerplant Support Facility (PSF) for a Team Leader. Your role if successful is to lead a small team of Technicians and Mechanics in the Powerplant workshop. Your role would involve hands-on engine, APU and component repair as well as acting as the focal point of contact for the shift team, coordinating and managing workload priorities in a safe, efficient and secure manner, delivering world class engineering solutions to our customers. You will ensure day-to-day compliance activities are up to date to ensure the team remains compliant to perform their duties within scope of their Authorisations. You need to be a qualified, experienced and a confident Technician already working within the PSF/FSF establishment, a flexible team player, able to multitask, lead by example and possess excellent communication and leadership qualities. If you are interested in leading a dynamic team in a high profile department, developing, coaching and implementing improvements to our business, this could be the job role for you.
Accountabilities:
1. Lead a Team within the workshop to deliver work within scope of Qualifications, and coordinate WIP priorities to agreed targets and expectations.
2. Be versatile and flexible to change work priorities in line with operational demand.
3. Perform GVI / DVI / surveillance inspections, maintenance tasks and checks.
4. Rectification of Defects, including component changes arising from scheduled maintenance inspections/tasks, that fall within the scope of workshop Authorisation, as defined in BA Engineering Quality Procedures.
5. Issue CAA / EASA / FAA Certificate Release to Service.
6. Be fluent in SAP to perform Computer based documentary transactions.
7. Accountable for workshop standards, workshop compliance, including tool control and housekeeping.
8. Responsible for the adherence to safe working practices.
9. Shares knowledge and experience to upskill Team.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
1. PC Skills, particularly SAP and Web Based maintenance manuals.
2. Good written and verbal Skills.
3. Self Motivated.
4. Able to make Technical Decisions, interpreting Technical Data to determine limitations (i.e. Worn is not Worn-Out).
5. Demonstrate good Airmanship.
6. Able to plan and prioritise Workload.
Your experience:
1. Suitable experience within an Aircraft Maintenance or Aircraft Component Workshop environment.
2. Holds / able to hold all applicable Workshop Technician Authorisations for all work scopes within workshop.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Engineering Procedures and Technical Documentation.
4. Understand Human Factors and Environmental Legislative requirements.
